Biography

Abd al Muhsin Zabin Mutib Naif al Mutayri is a Kuwaiti preacher and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Interpretation and Hadith at the College of Sharia and Islamic studies at the University of Kuwait. He is also an imam and preacher in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait since 1995.

The US Treasury designated in 2016 Al Mutayri as a supporter and a facilitator of terrorism. According to the US Treasury, he was listed for providing financial, material, or technological support to al Nusrah Front in Syria between 2013 and 2015. In fact, Washington believes that al-Mutayri was collecting money for the group from other Gulf-based facilitators. Al Mutayri used charities to raise money for the terrorist organisation and worked with al Nusrah Front facilitators to collect money for the organisation’s fighters in Syria.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

February 2021: In a video recorded in a mosque, where he regularly gives religious courses, Al Mutayri said that sometimes we need to use force when dealing with the unbelievers and that Muslims shouldn’t act in a soft way with them all the time.
